The Still Strong Foundation Needs You
The Still Strong Foundation sets an annual fundraising goal that allows us to positively impact the lives of families whose children are fighting pediatric cancer.
Our 2019-2020 goal is $250,000.
The Foundation’s mission is simple yet powerful: Help parents spend less time worrying about non-medical bills, like mortgages and utilities, and more time supporting their child to a victorious fight against cancer.
But we can’t do it alone….and need your help.
The Foundation currently supports families, with a maximum amount of $3,000, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Wilmington, Delaware; and Houston, Texas, through the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children, Nemours Alfred I. DuPont Hospital for Children and Texas Children’s Hospital.
The Foundation has helped several patients’ families in need, including:
- Tommy, an 11-year-old boy with complex history including cystic fibrosis, liver disease and Burkitt lymphoma – $1,568 for homeowners and auto insurance.
- Naadir, a 3-year-old boy with kidney cancer – $731 for a heating bill
- Julianna, a 16-year-old girl with Hodgkin’s lymphoma – $900 for water and electricity bills
- Gregory, a 19-month-old boy with leukemia – $500 for telephone and utility bills
- Tianne, a 16-year-old girl with acute lymphoid leukemia – $1,000 for rent
- Taylor, a 4-year-old girl with acute lymphoblastic leukemia – $695 for car payments
In addition to non-medical bills, the Foundation strives to bring joy to patients and families whose hospital stays can span weeks or even months. Your financial and/or in-kind support allows us to host spa days, serve holiday meals and share special gifts…. bringing a much-needed smile to a concerned parent or exhausted child undergoing extensive treatments.
